The City of Bridgeport is partnering with the FBI, First Tee of North Central WV, and Take 25 to host KIDS DAY at Bridgeport City Park on May 21, starting at 6:00 pm. The FBI will be providing free digital fingerprinting for all kids and will provide their parents an ID Card on the spot. The Fire Department will have Fire Extinguisher Training and the Police Department will have Child Safety Seat Demonstrations, Driving Impaired Goggles and Sydney. The two departments will be bringing an ambulance, fire truck, police car, and motorcycles as part of the “Touch a Truck” for the kids to check out.
The First Tee of WV delivers its life skills curriculum with the concentration on growing the game of golf to young people (generally ages 5 to 14 years of age). They will be on hand with golf activities to demonstrate to the kids.
Take 25 is a national child safety campaign of the National Center for Missing Exploited Children encouraging families to take 25 minutes to talk to their children about safety and abduction prevention. The goal of Take 25 is to heighten awareness about child safety issues. Educational materials will be available at the event for parents to take to help educate them about these issues.
This is the next event in the Emergency Reachout Program the city has established. There will be more information to follow in the upcoming weeks (see attached flyer also). If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
