In March, the Bridgeport High School Alumni and Friends Foundation welcomed another two new members to their board, Brooke (Harvey) Cunningham and Hannah (Cantrell) Edwards.
Brooke (Harvey) Cunningham is a 2009 Bridgeport High School graduate. She went on to complete the Benedum 5 Year Master’s Program for Teaching at West Virginia University. She specialized in Science 5-9 and Early Childhood Education and graduated in May, 2014. She is currently working as a 7th and 8th Grade Science Teacher at Bridgeport Middle School.
Brooke is living in Bridgeport with her husband and fellow BHS grad, Andrew Cunningham. They have one son together, 20-month old, James Cunningham, and their dogs Jake and Max.
“I am excited to be a part of the Alumni and Friends foundation because my community and school are especially important to me,” said Cunningham. “My grandparents, parents, and siblings are all Alumni of BHS and I am proud to call this wonderful community my home. I love working at BMS and living in Bridgeport.”
Hannah (Cantrell) Edwards is also a 2009 BHS Alumna. After graduating high school, she went on to earn a B.A in Communication and Public Speaking from Fairmont State University in 2013, where she was a member of the Debate Team. Edwards is the Digital Media Specialist for the Greater Bridgeport Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Connect-Bridgeport.com.
Hannah lives in Bridgeport with her husband and fellow 2009 BHS grad, Kenny Edwards.
“I was 8 when I moved to Bridgeport but it wasn’t long before my family felt like we were home. The people were so welcoming and there’s a sense of community here that’s hard to find in many places,” says Edwards. “Bridgeport is a special place to live and I’m excited to be able to share my love of this community through the Alumni and Friends Foundation.”
