Time Travel: A '90 Yearbook Television Ad for WDTV and a Coalwood Visit
By Dick Duez on October 19, 2014 from History Blog
Although former WDTV personalities Mark Loudin (77) and Dave Stingo (73) weren't affiliated with Bridgeport High School, they are surrouned by BHS alumni in this advertisement from the 1990 Ki-Cu-Wa yearbook. Who do you know in the photo and where are they today - some are still with WDTV more than two decades later.
This is a decades old photograph from Coalwood, which is in McDowell County. Although it may look like many coal towns from years ago, Coalwood has become famous as the home of "The Rocket Boys." The young scientists that went on to fame were featured in the 1999 movie "October Sky."
Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at grinder12@frontier.com.

My daughter, Staci Unger, owner of Time4U in Bridgeport, is seated on the far right. She was a 1989 BHS grad who came back home and will likely never leave!
