A morning vehicle accident along State Route 73 (Route 131) caused traffic headaches and resulted in injuries, according to Bridgeport Fire Department Captain Phil Hart.
Hart said there was one individual transported to United Hospital Center as result of the accident. He said the injuries, to the best of his knowledge, were not life threatening.
The call went out for what the Harrison County 911 log described as a two-vehicle accident at 6:03 a.m. The log said it was a “head-on type collision.”
Traffic in both lanes was blocked due to the accident until the scene was cleared. The Bridgeport Fire Department, the Bridgeport Police Department and the city’s EMS squad all responded to the scene. The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating.
Further details were unavailable. Both the fire and police departments had shift changes since the morning accident.
