Bridgeport Emergency Services and Bridgeport Police responded to two late-afternoon accidents.
Occurring at 3:30 p.m., the first was a single-vehicle accident on West Main Street/U.S. Route 50. Traveling east, a white Chevy Malibu veered off the highway, crossed a lane of oncoming traffic, proceeded through the Wilson Martino Dental parking lot and ultimately struck the complex's sign structure. The driver was cited with driving under the influence, said Bridgeport Police Officer C.W. Barto.
Just after 4 p.m., a two-vehicle accident took place at Route 50 near Maple Lake. A motorist traveling west was making a left-hand turn into Maple Lake and another vehicle was exiting Maple Lake onto Route 50 when they collided, Barto said.
There were no hospital transports in either accident.
