It's an annual observance. In preparation of Memorial Day, Boy Scouts of Troop 40, their scout masters and members of American Legion Post 68 team up to canvas Bridgeport Cemetery with red, white and blue. Thursday evening, the boys, men and women spread throughout the cemetery equipped with small American flags, placing them on the gravesites of U.S. soldiers. The young scouts stopped and read the gravestones, taking note of the veterans' names and, in some cases, the wars during which they served. According to Richard Forren, a U.S. veteran who organizes and facilitates the project, flags were placed on about 1,300 graves. See several photos in at the gallery link below.
