The Grapevine: A Full Week Capped by an Invitation to Author's 80th Birthday Party in Clarksburg

By Rosalyn Queen on October 03, 2019 from The Grapevine

This has been one of the fullest weeks I have had in a very long time.  It was filled with good friends and food. At this point in my life there is nothing I enjoy more.

Lunch with Rosemary Seamon Yurko and Debbie Morano was full of good food but better yet catching up and reminiscing was great.  Dinner with Cheryl  Mehaulic and breakfast with Mary Barnett and then lunch with my son Marty contributed to everything I needed to catch up on.  I then slipped in a lunch with Ruby Oldaker and was briefed on a lot of family situations.

Ok, so I know what you're thinking: does Rosalyn have a weight problem? I am trying to counteract all of my eating events with a reasonable Keto diet.  And I'm happy to report that I have lost 5 1/2 pounds in ten days.  My goal is twenty pounds so that I can enjoy the holidays.  Keto seems to be working but I am still not certain what I am doing as far as quantity is concerned.

Well the diet went all to heck at the Staud-Dean wedding last Friday night.  It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever attended. It was held at the Pete Dye Club and there was an endless line of delicious food.  My daughter Leslie and son-in-law Dixon kept the hor d voures coming and lovely Amy Demarie helped me with the buffet. I tried not to indulge too heavily but it was hard to resist but I did pass on the cake.

The bride's gown was beautiful as was her mother’s. But as I observed the guests throughout the evening there was only one word to describe the female attendees, “fashionistas!”. What a beautiful atmosphere was created by all these beautiful ladies dressed to the “Ts”

Just a reminder that my birthday open house will be held this Thursday evening at the PWA at six o’clock  You are all invited.  Come help me celebrate my 80th.

Fall is upon us. I hear that because we have had little rain this year that the leaves will not last long.  So, be sure to take a trip soon to view West Virginia's beautiful color landscape the before the leaves are gone.

I am hoping that this dry season will not affect the mushrooms. I truly look forward to fixing them for our holiday consumption.

My condolences to the Haymond family on the passing of Norma.  She was indeed a gem.

Enjoy this beautiful season and until next week  “Now You Have Heard It Through The Grapevine.”
