Bridgeport, WV – The Bridgeport Farmers Market is again represented at the Bridgeport Public Library in a special presentation. On July 23rd at 6:30pm, Dale Hawkins of Fish Hawk Acres will speak about the benefits of consuming local food. Hawkins challenges all to become “locavores,” as consumer health and the local economy both benefit from conscientious buying of local products, especially food.
Fish Hawk Acres is featured at the Bridgeport Farmers Market and Hawkins will offer $5.00 in Market coupons to all whom attend. All are welcome and admission is free. For more information about the event, please contact Sarah Rosier at the Bridgeport Public Library at 304-842-8248.

About Fish Hawk Acres
Fish Hawk Acres is a group of producers that have aggregated products and services under one brand. They believe in supporting local and regional food systems. “Locavore” is a new word describing local eating, which has been adopted by a cutting-edge social movement, but the “Locavore” concept is nothing new. Not necessarily 100 percent local, but predominately local is the way almost all people ate until the past few generations. Fish Hawk Acres hopes to serve as a catalyst for people who wish to reclaim the food they eat.
