Summer Reading: Steve Somers at the Bridgeport Public Library!
Bridgeport, WV – Steve Somers, The Amazing Teacher, will be at the Bridgeport Public Library on June 26, 2013 at 10:30am. Somers will be using wheels, pulleys, levers, inclined planes, and screws in a way that makes abstract concepts concrete. All age groups are welcome and admission is free!
In this performance, Somers plays the part of a construction worker and engages the children in the audience by offering seemingly miraculous ways of completing various tasks. Together they discover the magic of science and reading. Tactile learners will come to life as they help figure out how to lift a fifty pound bucket of rocks with a five pound weight, and why a wedge is such a handy tool. Attendees will be able to easily accomplish feats that no human being is able to accomplish bare-handed.
Come out to the Bridgeport Public Library for the show! If you have any questions about this event, please contact Amy Eakle at 304-842-8248.
