Winners Named in ABB Scarecrow Contest

By Julie Perine on October 31, 2025

The Associated Businesses of Bridgeport announces winners of the 2025 Scarecrow Contest. Winning the Connect-Bridgeport poll was Advantage Tech’s wizard with 27.5 percent of the votes (1144). In close second place was Landmark Realty’s Monsters Inc. with 24mpercent of the votes (997).

A total of 4159 votes were cast in the poll which went live on Connect-Bridgeport Oct. 10.  Eight scarecrows drew votes in the hundreds.

“We love that the votes were spread out this year, but still indicated a clear winner,” said Hilary Gonzalez,” ABB treasurer and contest organizer. “The ABB’s purpose for the contest is to get people out to look at and enjoy them and it looks like the scarecrows definitely did their job this year.”

As for Judges’ Choice, first place goes to C&C Signs & Graphics’ Bigfoot Ballerina (221 points) with Landmark Realty again claiming the second-place spot (217 points).

“Again, it was a close contest,” Gonzalez said. “Our panel of judges visited each scarecrow during Sunday’s Trick-or-Treat event and scored them in various categories, including artistic design, costume detail, quality/craftsmanship, visual impact, originality and kid appeal."

The first-place winners will be awarded a traveling plaque at Light Up Night, scheduled for Thurs., Dec. 4.

The winning scarecrows will remain on display for the next week. All other businesses are asked to remove their scarecrows this weekend.

The Associated Businesses of Bridgeport and Connect-Bridgeport thank all participating businesses and everyone who voted. The second annual Trick-or-Treat with the Scarecrows took place Sunday on Main Street with a great turnout by the community. (See photos HERE.)
