Bridgeport Alum Lucas Anderson Places in Mountain East Conference Track & Field Meet

Bridgeport alum Lucas Anderson, now a junior at West Virginia Wesleyan, finished fourth in the 60 meter dash finals in 6.898 seconds and fourth in the 200 meter dash finals in 21.81 seconds at the Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Chris Cline Athletic Complex at Marshall University.
 
Anderson ran a personal-best time of 6.80 seconds in 60 meter qualifying and posted a 21.64 time in 200 meter qualifying.
 
He was also part of the Bobcats’ fifth-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay in 3:27.06.
 
At Bridgeport, Anderson was a state champion as a senior in the Class AAA 4x100 meter relay and shuttle hurdles relay and finished second individually in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash, placing fifth in the meet high point race with 21.
 
He also was on the podium as a junior in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash and shuttle hurdles, all with fourth-place finishes.
 
West Virginia Wesleyan (56.5 points) finished fifth in the men’s event behind Charleston (177), Point Park (83), Frostburg State (79) and West Liberty (73.5) and ahead of West Virginia State (52), Glenville State (48), Davis & Elkins (45), Concord (33), Wheeling (11) and Fairmont State (5).
 
Charleston (140 points) won the women’s team title ahead of Point Park (114), West Liberty (82), West Virginia Wesleyan (73.5), Glenville State (68.5), Davis & Elkins (66), Frostburg State (62), West Virginia State (31), Concord (17), Wheeling (6) and Fairmont State (2).
