Former Long-Time Harrison County and BHS Educator Trina Britcher Inducted into Space Camp Hall of Fame

Former Bridgeport High School teacher Trina Britcher was recently inducted into the Space Camp Hall of Fame.
The Space Camp Hall of Fame honors graduates, former employees, and friends of Space Camp who have made significant contributions to 
the program or their respective fields. It recognizes individuals who have excelled in their careers after attending Space Camp or who have provided exceptional support to the program.

Britcher was indicated in her role as educator for the blind and visually impaired, and a materials coordinator for SCIVIS (Space Camp for Interested Visually Impaired Students). She dedicated Trina dedicated roughly 40 years, with 33 of those years being in Harrison County and at BHS, to teaching students with blindness and low vision. She championed braille literacy, trained educators, and coordinated vital services.
A 2011 "Teacher of the Year" and a Space Academy Team Member in 2015, Britcher’s commitment to education and accessibility is inspiring. Her sons, Matt and Gabe, are Space Camp alums.
The 2025 Space Camp Hall of Fame inductees were honored at a ceremony held at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center's Davidson Saturn V Hall in Huntsville, Alabama on July 11. She was joined by an impressive list of inductees.
The others included:
- Homer Hickam: An author and retired NASA training manager, known for his memoir "Rocket Boys" (adapted into the movie "October Sky").
- Joseph Pelfrey: The Director of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center.
- Tim Sheehy: A U.S. Senator representing Montana and the founder of Bridger Aerospace.
- Diallo Wallace: A naval aviator, aerospace engineering duty officer, and career technical educator.
