The Clarksburg History Museum will debut its inaugural Taste of Harrison County fundraising event on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 3 to 6 p.m. in
Upper Jackson Square. The community is invited to sample food from local vendors, enjoy family activities, and vote to crown the best tastes of Harrison County
Adult tickets are $20 and children’s tickets are $10. Each ticket includes six tasting samples, with additional samples available for $3 each. Vendors will also sell full-size food items. Beer, wine, and soft drinks will be available for purchase through the Museum. Proceeds benefit the Museum’s exhibits and programs.
Guests will cast ballots in three divisions - sandwiches, wings, and desserts - to determine the winners. This year’s lineup includes Cosmo’s Kitchen, Kelly’s 2.0, Kaz’s BBQ, Mazza’s Pizzeria & Hoagie Shop, VFW, Fat Angelo’s, Pita Piatas, WVIHF Friti, and more.
At the same time, Lower Jackson Square will host a Car & Truck Show. Entry is $15 per vehicle and includes three tasting tickets. Awards will
be given for first, second, and third place. Dash plaques will be distributed to all participating vehicles. A 50/50 raffle and a “car length” raffle for $20 will also be offered. Families can enjoy inflatables provided by Cartoon Headquarters and live music throughout the afternoon. (Car Show Proceeds Benefit First Fridays Community Org)
“Taste of Harrison is a brand-new way to bring the community together downtown,” said a spokesperson for the Clarksburg History Museum. “It’s about celebrating local food, cars, and family fun while raising support for the Museum.”
In addition to Taste of Harrison and the Car Show, downtown Clarksburg will feature library activities, trunk-or-treat, historic tours, and shopping. Later that evening, the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center will host Mama Mia Mania, a separately ticketed event.
