By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on May 25, 2026

CLARKSBURG – The Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library invites readers of all ages to participate in this year’s Summer Reading Program, themed “Plant a Seed, Read.”

Summer Reading encourages children, teens, and adults to keep reading throughout the summer while enjoying special programs, activities, and prizes.

Kickoff registration events will be held at the library on Thursday, June 4 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, June 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

During these events, children, teens, and adults can pick up their summer reading packets and learn more about the programs and activities planned throughout the summer.

Participants are encouraged to register online for the kickoff events to receive their summer reading packet.

Registration is available at clarksburglibrary.org/calendar.

Summer Reading registration at the Salem Library will take place on Friday, June 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Registration is open to all ages.

This year’s theme, “Plant a Seed, Read,” celebrates growth, imagination, and learning through reading and community engagement.

Programs throughout the summer include hands-on crafts, sensory activities, field trips, STEM challenges, storytimes, art programs, and special events for children, teens and adults.

Featured children’s programs include Caterpillars to Butterflies, LEGO Club, the Egg Drop Challenge, Mason Jar Terrarium, Fancy Nancy Tea Party, Farm to Fable, and a variety of sensory play and gardening-themed storytimes.

Families can also enjoy field trips to the Farmers Market, Art Barn, Home Depot, and the WV Botanic Garden.

Teen participants can take part in a Summer Reading Escape Room and a Summer Reading Tea Party, while adults can enjoy a Summer Reading Tea Party designed especially for adult readers.

The library will also offer Renaissance Dance Instruction for ages 13 through adult, giving participants the opportunity to learn historical dances in a fun and interactive setting.
