Applications Now Available for FBI Citizens Academy Hosted by FBI's CJIS Division; Deadline is January 2

The FBI's CJIS Division is currently accepting nominations and applications for the 2026 Citizens Academy! The next FBI CJIS Division Citizens Academy class will be held every Tuesday, from March 3, through April 21, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the FBI’s CJIS Division.
The FBI Citizens Academy is a stimulating eight-week program that gives business, religious, civic, and community leaders an inside look at the FBI. The mission of the FBI Citizens Academy is to foster a greater understanding of the role of federal law enforcement in the community through discussion and education. Classes meet on Tuesday evenings at the FBI's CJIS Division. Nominations for the 2026 class may be submitted by past and/or present FBI employees, Citizens Academy graduates, or any individual wishing to nominate themselves. Individuals nominated must be in good standing in the community.
Once nominated, each nominee will be contacted by FBI personnel to complete an application. Participants are selected by management of the FBI's CJIS Division. To find out more about the FBI CJIS Division’s Citizens Academy, please contact CJIS_COP@fbi.gov.

- Notification of Application status: Monday, February 2
- FBI Citizens Academy Meet & Greet (optional): Monday, March 2, 2026
- Sessions: March 3 – April 21; 8 consecutive Tuesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
- Graduation: April 28, 2026
