Area Man Arrested and Charged for Making Terroristic Threats that Led to Monongalia School to Go on Alert

Editor's Note: This is a followup from Wednesday that was posted after a handful of inquiries were made to Connect-Bridgeport hearing that this had allegedly taken place in Harrison County, which it did not.
Austin William Hall, 30, of Morgantown, WV was taken into custody on October 1, 2025. Hall was arraigned before Magistrate Court on
Thursday morning. Hall has been charged with Making Terroristic Threats and Possession with Intent to Deliver. Bail has been set at $50,000 for Terroristic Threats and $10,000 for Possession with Intent to Deliver.
The Monongalia County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of an individual following reports of threats on October 1, 2025 . The subject indicated he was planning violent acts in various locations in Monongalia County. The incident prompted Code Silver Alert to Monongalia County Schools, signifying a heightened security alert.
Sheriff Todd Forbes reassured the community regarding the safety of students and staff: "Let me assure our community: there was never a credible threat targeting the students, staff, or schools."
"I'm proud of our team. The effective coordination among our deputies, school safety officers, and various county agencies gave us the chance to intervene and successfully prevent any potential harm to our citizens."
