BHS Alumni & Friends Foundation Introduces 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee Chuck Steele

Chuck Steele is among 2025 inductees for the BHS Alumni & Friends Foundation Hall of Fame and will be honored Oct. 31 at the BHS football game, as well as Nov. 1 at the foundation's annual banquet at The O by Oliverio's. Tickets are available at $55 each HERE.
Of the BHS Class of 1985, Chuck is a 1985 graduate of Bridgeport High School. He earned his accounting degree in 1989 from West Virginia University and obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 1992. While at WVU, he served on the Athletic Council, as president of his fraternity, as the student representative on the Alumni Director Search Committee, as a member of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honorary, and as the Summit of Mountain Honorary.
Following graduation, he took and successfully passed the state bar examinations of North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia and worked as a litigating attorney for the firm of Cozen O’Connor in Charlotte, North Carolina. He continued his litigation practice when he moved back home in 1996 and has practiced as a partner in the firms of Steele Law Offices, Steele McMunn, PLLC, and now, Steele Resolve, PLLC for over 30 years.
Chuck currently litigates and tries cases from both the plaintiff and defense perspective and routinely serves a mediator for lawyers and their clients. He is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and serves on the Hearing Committee of the Lawyer Disciplinary Board for the West Virginia State Bar’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel. He is a frequent lecturer/speaker for the West Virginia State Bar at its mediation training seminars. Chuck is a lifetime member of and served for 20 years on the Bridgeport High School Alumni & Friends Foundation, Inc. – helping to grow the organization, its scholarship program, and its outreach. He authored the Foundation’s Bylaws and Operations Procedures; established precedent for a foundation lecture series; and obtained its retroactive 501c(3) IRS status. In his final 5 years on the board, Chuck served as its President while leading the board through the challenges of attrition and the pandemic.
In doing all of these, he developed bonds with the many alumni and friends who contribute so much to the well-being of Bridgeport High School and its students. Chuck has remained active in the community of Bridgeport and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. He is the proud father of Taylor Steele (Nashville, Tenn.) and Rachel Steele (St. Augustine, Fla.)
