Bridgeport Intersection Seeing Dozens of Accidents in Recent Years Sees Pair of Wrecks 24 Hours Apart

By Jeff Toquinto on February 03, 2026

An area in Bridgeport that has seen plenty of accidents over the years saw two accidents occur almost exactly 24 hours apart this past weekend.

According to the Harrison County 911 media log, on Friday, Jan. 30, as well as Saturday, Jan. 31, Bridgeport was alerted to respond to vehicle accidents on West Main Street. Both calls were for wrecks at the intersection of Emily Drive and Route 50.

On Jan. 30, the call came in a 7:46 p.m. for West Main Street (U.S. Route 50). Bridgeport Police and Bridgeport Fire responded to the scene at the often problematic intersection in relation to the number of accidents that take place there.

The Friday accident saw two individuals being transported to United Hospital Center for treatment. No word on the condition of the individuals was available, but the Anmoore Emergency Squad joined the Bridgeport Fire Department Emergency Squad unit in assisting on the scene.

Although not confirmed by first responders, witnesses on the scene said both vehicles were four-door sedans.

On Saturday evening, Jan. 31, first responders were again called out. This time, the call came at 7:50 p.m. in the same area.

Bridgeport Police, Bridgeport Fire – along with its ambulance – responded to the call for a motor vehicle accident. This time, the wreck involved a pair of sport utility vehicles.

Although there were minor traffic issues due to both accidents, the good news about the second incident was that there were no medical transports. It is unknown if weather conditions due to the temperatures played a part in either accident.
