Bridgeport Police Asking for Public Help in Identifying Man being Sought in City Shoplifting Investigation

By Jeff Toquinto on November 04, 2025

The Bridgeport Police Department are asking for the community’s help in assisting in identifying an individual sought in an ongoing criminal investigation.

Bridgeport Police Officer C.B. “Charles” Hall is asking for assistance for the taking of an item at Target the afternoon of Halloween. The incident took place at 2:45 p.m.

“The individual in question took a phone case at Target (at the Meadowbrook Mall) and took it out of the packing the case was in,” said Hall.

Hall said the suspect passed all points of sale and was then stopped by the store’s loss prevention employee. The loss prevention officer attempted to keep the man in question there to allow for law enforcement to arrive, but the suspect left the area.

According to Hall, this would be considered a misdemeanor offense. However, if the suspect is identified and charged, and would have two prior shoplifting convictions, then it becomes a felony.
The suspect is a white male with a little bit of a beard, perhaps a goatee. He is listed by Hall as having a buzz cut and being of medium height.

Images with this story were taken from Target’s surveillance camera system.

If you know the individual shown, believe you know who it might be, have any information relating to the case, you are asked to call the Bridgeport Police Department at 304-842-8260.

You can also email Hall at chall@bridgeportwv.gov
