Charles Pointe to Again Sponsor National Night Out's Fireworks; Radar Tower Hill New Deployment Site

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on July 31, 2025

The Corton family is proud to announce that Charles Pointe will sponsor the fireworks show again this year for the city's National Night Out hosted by the Bridgeport Police Department scheduled for next Tuesday, August 5.

National Night Out is a national community-building event that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer.  National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement officers that serve that neighborhood. The event provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

"National Night Out is always a great community event for Bridgeport," said Jamie Corton.  "Charles Pointe is happy to help host this annual event that brings the community and our police department together for an evening of fun," Corton said.

The Bridgeport Police Department will host its National Night Out event at The Bridge Sports Complex at Charles Pointe. National Night Out in Bridgeport begins at 6 p.m.

There will be free food, live music, games, inflatables, demonstrations, and lots of giveaways.

The fireworks show will begin at dark.  The new location for the fireworks to be deployed will be on "Radar Tower Hill" at Charles Pointe.  The new location will allow the fireworks to be seen from Menards, United Hospital Center, and most of the Charles Pointe residential development.

Editor's Note: Genesis Partners Managing Member Jamie Corton, third from left, presents the sponsorship check to Mayor Robert Matheny. Also shown, from left, is Chief Mark Rogers, Grace Corton, and Rebecca Schuessler Morrison.
