Community Development Director Andrea Kerr Tells BDA of Near $1 Million Project on Way to Bridgeport

Another project is coming to the City of Bridgeport. This one has a nearly a $1 million price tag attached to it.
During a recent Bridgeport Development Authority meeting, Community Development Director Andrea Kerr told those gathered that WVU Medicine United Hospital Center was doing an MRI project. The price of the project based on the permit is $900,000.
Kerr said the project is listed as a “fit out” of space at the facility on Jerry Dove Drive. Fit-out construction is the process of making an empty, raw interior space suitable for occupation.
“This is a common conversation that we have as far as UHC adding facilities, or renovating facilities. It’s unbelievable to see week after week and month after month the amount of work and resources WVU Medicine continues to put into our community for UHC for the benefit of not only our residents, but the region, is incredible,” said Kerr.
March-Westin Company, Inc., out of Morgantown, which has handled multiple UHC projects, is the contractor. Stantec Architecture out of Pittsburgh is the architect for the work that will be done on the first floor, Kerr said.
“The City of Bridgeport is thankful for the continued upgrades. We believe we have the best health care in the state right here in Bridgeport,” said Kerr.
