Devil Dawgs Football League Donates Supplies to UHC Cancer Center in Memory of Teammate's Mother
By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 10, 2026
In a touching display of compassion, the young athletes of the West Virginia Devil Dawgs youth football league recently brought warmth and comfort to cancer patients at WVU Medicine United Hospital Center. The teams (8U-11U) from North Central West Virginia and the Mid-Ohio Valley collected and donated items such as cozy blankets, warm socks, gloves, puzzles, and lip balm to the UHC Cancer Center.
This donation holds special meaning, as it is dedicated to the memory of a teammate's mother lost to cancer, continuing the league's tradition of giving back, which has also included past toy drives for pediatric patients at UHC.
