Jonah Camenga, Calleigh Morgan Named to Address the Class of 2025 as Mr. and Miss BHS, Respectively

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on May 19, 2025

Unlike decades ago, Bridgeport High School's graduation ceremony will not feature remarks from a slew of class valedictorians or salutatorians. Instead, the still relatively new tradition in terms of the school's history, will see two students offer remarks at Thursday's Class of 2025 BHS graduation ceremony.

Seniors Jonah Camenga and Calleigh Morgan will address their classmates, families, friends, faculty, staff, and others who are at Wayne Jamison Field for the 7 p.m. graduation ceremony.

Camenga is Mr. BHS and Morgan has been named Miss BHS. The pair were chosen by a vote of the Bridgeport High School faculty.

Below are their biographies:

Calleigh Morgan is the daughter of Angie Dawkins and Jason Morgan and is the Stepdaughter to Chris Dawkins.  She is also the older sister to BMS student, Bryce Dawkins.

She would like to express her gratitude for receiving this honor of Miss BHS and would like to thank all the faculty that have inspired her through these amazing four years.

Calleigh was the Student Body President this past year as well as a member of the National Honor Society, French Honor Society, The American Rocketry Challenge Team, and Girl-Up Club.  Calleigh served in many roles with Student Council through the years as the Freshman and Sophomore class Historian as well as serving as the Student Body Secretary during her Junior year.

Calleigh has maintained a 4.0+ GPA all through high school and awarded Academic Letter and Lamps each year.  Calleigh has been enrolled in both AP and Dual Credit College Courses during her senior year and is a course series completer for the Aerospace Engineering program. She also earned her WV Seal of Biliteracy for French.

Outside of the classroom, Calleigh has been a Volleyball Player on the BHS team for 4 years and helped the team earn the State Championship this year. She also saw success on the Wrestling Team earning a spot at States, Track & Field, as well as Band during her high school years.  Additionally, she has been a team captain on her travel volleyball teams with Mountain State Storm.  Lastly, Calleigh has been attending flight training with Pilot Resource & Training Center in Connellsville, PA and is working towards her Private Pilot license.

Calleigh has been very passionate about community service and earned the WVSSAC Female Community Service award, and as a 13-year Girl Scout, she earned both her Silver and Gold Awards.  She has also been involved with the Clarksburg Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol and part of the 1st place French folk-dance team at the WV World Language Showcase. Calleigh has also been involved with the Youth Hand-bell choir at Bridgeport United Methodist Church since its inception.

After high school, Calleigh will be attending Ohio University in Athens, Ohio where she will be double majoring in both Aviation Flight and Aviation Management.  She also plans to obtain a Minor in French.  She aspires to be an international commercial airline pilot in the future.

Jonah Camenga is a senior at Bridgeport High School and is the brother to two sisters who also happen to be in the same grade. During his sophomore year, he was fortunate to be able to take English 10 Honors. Additionally, although he has not taken too many AP classes, he still enjoyed and passed AP Lang, which he took his junior year, and is currently taking AP Psychology, Government, and Literature, in which he hopes to score at least one 5. Jonah was awarded lamps and letters for his academic success his sophomore and junior years.

Throughout his high school career, Jonah has been a part of many awesome groups of people, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Thespian Troupe #7549, National Honor Society, and the BHS Choir Club, in which he has done multiple service projects for the community, and fundraising events to entertain small children and their families, which he greatly enjoys.

Jonah has won multiple awards as a part of Troupe #7549 and the Choir Club, including being accepted into the 2024 WV All-State Chorus and the 2024 WVACDA All-State Chamber Choir, and winning several awards for his acting and stage-combat skills at the regional and state level during the 2023 and 2024 WV Thespian Festivals. In addition, Jonah has been a part of Troupe #7549’s last two competition one-act plays, both of which were honored as one of the top five one-act plays in the state.

Outside of competitive choir and theater, Jonah has done many shows throughout his four years as a part of Troupe #7549, including portraying George Banks in the show Mary Poppins and The Beast in Beauty and the Beast. He has made incredible invaluable friendships during his time with the troupe and is incredibly grateful that he can do it alongside his beloved sisters and loving peers.
