Man who Founded Well-Known City Business, Served on Multiple Boards, Jerry Wayne Lindsay, Passes

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on December 02, 2025

Jerry Wayne Lindsay, 78, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025. Born on December 23, 1946, he was the son of the late Joanne C. Lindsay and Charles L. Lindsay.

Jerry grew up in Harrison County and graduated from RW High School before attending technical school for welding. His early work at Mason’s Machine Shop set the foundation for a respected career marked by hard work, craftsmanship, and leadership. Jerry later became the sole owner of Quality Machine Company in Bridgeport, WV. Through dedication and vision, he built the business into a thriving operation, eventually partnering with Ken Marsh of Bridgeport before selling the company and retiring at the age of 54.

A devoted member of his community, Jerry served on the Board of Directors for Grafton Bank and the Grafton Housing Manufacturer. He was also involved in the Bridgeport Rotary Club. For 32 years, he made his home at Maple Lake in Bridgeport, where he enjoyed close friendships and the peaceful lake lifestyle.

Jerry is survived by his sons: Rusty (David Kidd), Adam Matthew Lindsay, and Mark Andrew Lindsay and his wife, Allison Smith Lindsay. He is also survived by three former wives—Pam Layton, Mary Kay Lindsay, and Brenda Stevenson—who remained meaningful parts of his life. Jerry leaves behind five beloved grandchildren: Morgan Katheryn Lindsay, Gabe Lindsay, Grace Lindsay, Colton Lindsay, and Kyli Lindsay. Also surviving are one niece, Rocky, and two nephews, Hoss and Scott.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Wayne Lindsay; his brother, Rodney Lindsey; his sister, Pam Lindsay Swiger; and his brother, David Lindsay.

Jerry lived life with joy and intention. He loved boating at Grafton Lakes, playing cards, traveling to Las Vegas, and taking memorable vacations with his three sons, their families, and close friends. For the past three years, he resided at River Oaks in Nutter Fort, WV, where he was cared for with kindness and respect.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Jerry will be cremated in accordance with his wishes.

Jerry will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, sharp wit, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.amoscarvelli.com.
