There was plenty of good news shared on the economic front at last week’s Bridgeport Development Authority meeting. Part of the news involved new business coming to the area.
During Community Development Director Andrea Kerr’s update, she announced the latest business ready to open shop in the city limits. And the latest business is coming off Jerry Dove Drive.
Kerr said that the Market at Bridgeport, the building that houses Great Harvest Bakery & Café of Bridgeport will have another tenant. According to Kerr, First Greene Mortgage, which has a location in Monongalia County, will be coming to Bridgeport and occupy the remaining space in the structure.
The building is currently undergoing a buildout. The buildout will cover the remaining 2,000 square feet of the structure near the entrance to the development.
Kerr said the permit is for $101,847. Accelerated Construction is handling the work, according to the permit, and the official address, said Kerr, is 3000 Jerry Dove, Unit 101.
“The buildout is approximately 80 percent complete,” said Kerr last week.
The addition is another in a long line of businesses to locate off Jerry Dove Drive at this development, White Oaks, and Charles Pointe.
“The developers have continuously brought new businesses that are either new to the state or new to Bridgeport that has had a positive impact,” said Kerr. “This one fills up an empty spot in an existing building and that it something we always like to see.
“Developers put in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to get things moving a positive direction, and you see that here,” she continued. “What’s really nice is that The Marketplace has so many different restaurants, lenders … just a wide variety of services and products available.”
