New Business Coming to Main Street in January Set to Fill Site that Housed Another Operation for 43 Years

By Jeff Toquinto on November 03, 2025

The site of a business located on Main Street in Bridgeport that shut down operations in May after more than four decades has a new owner – and they hope to be open by late January.

Alpha Tint & Detail Center Plus Ceramic Coatings will be the new occupant of the building. They currently operate a business in Shinnston, which owner Steven Messinger said has been in operation for five and a half years.

“We’re going to keep the Shinnston location as it has been good to us,” said Messinger, who is a Harrison County resident with two children attending Bridgeport Middle School. “What we found out is that about 70 percent of our business is from Bridgeport and the immediate area so why not expand to a Bridgeport location.

“To build the business to the point of expanding, we’ve had to do a lot more marketing to get the outside business, which has worked,” he continued. “We get business from all over Harrison County and even from Weston and Elkins; pretty much all over.”

As the name suggests, the auto styling center offers window tinting and auto detailing services. However, they also offer multiple other services. The business is known for doing paint protection film ceramic coatings, remote start, paint correction, car audio, truck accessories and more.

The more at the Bridgeport location will feature more work beyond the main part of the business, which has been the window tinting, detailing, and remote start work. The business will have an online store with all truck accessories and work can be done on the accessories in Bridgeport.

“We’re thrilled about that,” he said. “Bridgeport is a shopper’s markets and with that location, it’s easy to find and hard to miss. If you tell someone you are located diagonal from Twin Oaks, they know where you are because they have been here forever.”

FedEx was the business in the building prior to Messinger, who will be operating a local and veteran-ran business as he served in the United States Navy. Messinger said that the owner of his soon-to-open building told him FedEx was there for 43 years.

“We’ve done well, and hope to do even better,” said Messinger. “I’ve done a little bit of everything, including being a diesel mechanic, so I’m looking forward to all we’ll offer at the new site.”

The new shop’s hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. They will also likely be open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., but those hours are subject to change.

The 4,800 square foot building, which saw FedEx depart in May, is going an overhaul. Messinger said the interior is being redone and a new HVAC system has been installed. He said signage, new windows, and a paved parking lot are also on the way.
