An early morning accident on Interstate 79’s southbound lane in Harrison County resulted in one individual being transported for medical treatment.
Bridgeport Fire Chief Greg Pigg confirmed the accident. He said it was near the Hornor Run Overpass bridge along I-79, which is close to the Marion County line.
The call came in for the accident at 2:23 a.m. Thursday, April 1.
“There was one vehicle involved,” said Pigg. “There was moderated damage to the vehicle, but there was also damage to the guardrail in the area.”
One person was injured and transported by a Bridgeport Fire Department ambulance. Pigg said the injuries were not life-threatening.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office is overseeing the investigation.
