Paws & Purpose Rescue's Fall Festival Set for Saturday
By Chris Johnson on September 02, 2025
The Paws and Pumpkins Fall Festival will take on Sept. 6 at Wild Goats Farm in Clarksburg.
The festival will serve as an adoption event for Paws & Purpose Rescue.
“We’re excited about it” said Kathy Martin, the director of Paws & Purpose. It’s been a big undertaking, so we are a little bit nervous. We’re going to have a lot of vendors and a bounce house and a petting zoo.”
The festival will start at 11 a.m. and go to dark. Admission price is $12 for adults and $6 for kids. Feed for the petting zoo is $5.
The event will close with live music by Nick Davisson and Landon McFadden.
Another feature of the festival will be a cuddle station where visitors can snuggle with the puppies that will be present.
Helping to find dogs their forever home is always the goal for Paws & Purpose – an action they have been quite successful at since launching in February. To date, they have found homes for 103 dogs.
.
“Hopefully this helps with exposure, just getting our name out there,” Martin said. “People still don’t know about us because we are relatively new. We want people to come out and have fun and meet the dogs. Maybe we get a couple of adopters out of this but if nothing else we just increase the exposure for the dogs. By word of mouth hopefully it will spread, and we will find these dogs good homes. We move one out, we move one in, or two or three.”
Martin said there will also be plenty of opportunities at the festival to learn about adoption as well as becoming a foster, something they are in dire need of.
“There’s not enough of us,” We can’t do this without fosters and right now that is what we need. We need people to open up their homes. We will give them as much information and education as we can to get as many people on board so we can save more dogs.
