United Way Looking for its Next Executive Director as Current Head Martin Howe Announces His Departure

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on February 04, 2026

The United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties announced today that it has opened a search for its next Executive Director, a key leadership role responsible for guiding the organization’s mission to improve lives and strengthen communities across the region.

The Executive Director will oversee strategic planning, community partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with a passion for service, strong communication skills, and a commitment to advancing the United Way’s impact in Harrison and Doddridge counties.

The search follows the planned departure of outgoing Executive Director Martin Howe, who has served in the role for the past year. Howe reflected on his time with the organization, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the community.

“Leading the United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties has been an honor,” Howe said. “Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and community partners who care deeply about improving the lives of our neighbors. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m confident the next Executive Director will continue to build on this momentum.”

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul McInturff as Interim Executive Director of United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties. McInturff brings deep institutional knowledge and a strong commitment to the organization’s mission during this period of transition.

Board leadership expressed appreciation for Howe’s service and emphasized the importance of finding a strong successor to continue advancing the organization’s mission.

Qualified applicants are invited to submit a letter of interest and resume to info@unitedwayhdc.org. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. For a complete job description, visit United Way HDC Announces Leadership Transition.
