One King Sports Announces 8th Annual 5K & Kids K for May 2

CLARKSBURG — One King Sports is excited to announce that registration for the 8th Annual One King Sports 5K & Kids K has surpassed 100 participants, with the event now just over a week away.
Community members from across the region are encouraged to register and take part in this family-friendly race experience on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at VA Park in Clarksburg, beginning at 9 a.m.
The annual event continues to grow in popularity, bringing together runners, walkers, families, and supporters for a morning focused on movement, community, and fun.
The 5K race will feature a chip-timed, out-and-back course beginning at the Freedom Shelter.
Participants will run to a turnaround point along the Harrison County Rail Trail before returning to the start/finish area.
The course will be clearly marked, with volunteers stationed throughout to assist and encourage runners along the way.
Following the 5K, the Kids K will take place near the start/finish line.
This short sprint is designed for children 8 years old and under, offering a safe and exciting opportunity for young participants to experience race day in a fun, energetic environment.
Awards will be presented after the Kids K, including:
Top 3 overall male and female finishers (trophies)
Age group winners (1st place trophies; 2nd and 3rd place receive custom genuine leather patches)
Additional fun awards, including:

Best Mustache
Best Dressed Dog
Best Decorated Stroller
Biggest Team
Fastest Team
Organizers emphasize that the event is designed for all fitness levels and encourages creative participation, from competitive runners to costumed walkers, families with strollers, and team groups.
