Harrison County Composite Mountain Bike Team Ends 2025 Season; Looking Forward to Upcoming Year
By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on December 01, 2025
The Harrison County Composite Mountain Bike Team has officially concluded its 2025 season and is extending heartfelt thanks to Bridgeport and surrounding communities for their continued support. Sponsorships and contributions from local businesses enabled student-athletes and coaches to focus on training, racing, and community service throughout the year.
This season marked significant growth and accomplishment across the team. Two senior athletes — Julianne Cutlip and JJ Surock — celebrated their graduation, and both are considering returning next season as mentors and assistant coaches. Riders across all age groups reached new performance milestones, including top-10 race finishes, podium appearances, and personal breakthroughs both on and off the trail.
The team also excelled in its Teen Trail Corps (TTC) community service efforts, contributing nearly 350 volunteer hours to maintain and improve local trail systems, primarily at Watters Smith State Park and Bridgeport City Park. Thanks to that dedication, HarCo MTB earned the title of West Virginia Interscholastic Cycling League’s Most TTC Volunteer Hours Team for the second consecutive year.
Again this year, Appalachian Dirt / Mountain State Trail Supply expanded its support for local youth cycling by donating trail tools not only to the top individual TTC volunteers — HarCo riders Julianne Cutlip and Elijah Rosier, who tied for the most hours statewide — but also to the entire Harrison County team in recognition of their collective commitment to trail stewardship. These tools will help the team continue its service work and strengthen trail access for the whole community.
As the team looks ahead, planning is already underway for the 2026 season. Upcoming initiatives include pre-season “Try It Out” riding events, expanded volunteer opportunities, fundraising activities, and a developing partnership between Mountaineer Trail Network (MTN) and Harrison Recreational Trails.
“Putting more kids on bikes and building a stronger community through cycling is at the heart of everything we do,” said Tim Gregis, Head Coach. “We’re grateful for the support that makes our program possible.”
The Harrison County Composite Mountain Bike Team extends sincere gratitude to the businesses, families, volunteers, and community partners who continue to help the program grow.
