Photos: BHS Softball Team Beats RCB 13-3 to Stay Alive in Class AAA Region II, Section 2 Tourney

The Bridgeport High School softball team defeated Robert C. Byrd, 13-3, on Friday in a Class AAA Region II, Section 2 elimination game.
 
With the win, the Indians improve to 9-11 and they will compete in another sectional elimination game at 7 p.m. on Monday. at Lewis County. BHS lost to Lewis County in a sectional opener, 12-11.
 
Against RCB, Addison Veigel led a balanced BHS attack going 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs.
 
Down 1-0 following a Khloe McAfoy solo home run in top of first, the Indians scored three in the bottom of the first to take a lead and put the game away with five in the fourth and five in the fifth.
 
Kyleigh Anderson went 2-for-4 for BHS and scored three runs.
 
Addison Mike went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in addition to earning the win after allowing six hits and three runs over five innings with just one walk and five strikeouts.
 
Gracia Knight scored three runs, Maddie Fittro drove in two and Renzy Pethtel had two hits.
