The Grapevine: Rosalyn Queen Introduces You to Her Friend Carrie Davis - a National Miss Amazing Queen

By Rosalyn Queen on July 31, 2025 from The Grapevine

Who is Carrie Davis when the crown comes off?

Carrie is a young lady who resides in Clarksburg with her husband, Lyle, and her much-loved dog, Dusty.  She works at a local motel.  She is a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church where she is very active in volunteering for several of the church’s programs.  She is very supportive of the Miss Amazing program, which she has been associated with for four years and volunteers whenever she is needed to further the program.  She also volunteers at the Progressive Women's Association.

Carrie was raised in Morgantown with her four brothers and two sisters, she is a graduate of Morgantown High School. She attended technical school at Morgantown High School where she learned skills that have shaped her life. In school she participated in Special Olympics where she ran track. She was also a cheerleader. Carrie’s favorite foods are pizza and chicken.

Carrie and Lyle will be celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary next month and they have planned a trip to the ocean to celebrate.

How do I know Carrie?  I met her several years ago through her volunteering at the PWA.  She was just getting involved in Miss Amazing and immediately I wanted to help her.  Our secret was that I was her Queen mother. That first year I took her shopping for her wardrobe for national competition.  I felt it was very important that challenged adults have the opportunity to pursue a dream.

Every little girl dreams of wearing a crown and Carrie has achieved this dream.  This year, at the National Miss Amazing event in Chicago, Carrie was crowned 2025 Miss Amazing national mentor queen.

By her participation she has also enabled other girls to follow in her footsteps. Over the last four years I have watched Carrie blossom into a driven individual with goals to help other girls.  It is my pleasure to know both Carries.

I wonder if it will ever get cool.  I keep thinking that I am going to melt but the scale tells me otherwise.  Stay cool and until next week, “Now You Have Heard It Through the Grapevine.”
