The Grapevine: Roz's Book Club's Blog New Review on Dr. Marc Siegel's "The Miracle Among Us"

By Rosalyn Queen on December 11, 2025 from The Grapevine

This month I am reviewing “The Miracle Among Us,” by Dr. Marc Siegel. This is especially appropriate during this time of year.

The book would make a really nice gift. Dr. Siegel writes about the miracles that happen among us. He explains how God’s grace plays a role in healing us.

The book contains 16 chapters. Each chapter outlines the story of an individual who received a miracle. Most of the miracles are related to health issues. There is one chapter titled Healing Prayers. Among those contributing healing prayers are Timothy Michael Dolan and Rabbi David Yosef. There are several Bible references to healing prayers.

The book explores happenings that can only be referred to as miracles. Sometimes there are no medical answers to healings that happen among us. A miracle can certainly be mysterious, and therefore we cannot place science on these happenings.

This book offers an enlightening exploration of how miracles happen in our everyday life.

Dr. Siegel is a news analyst and a practicing internist. This book shows how Dr. Siegel combined interviews from health specialists and spiritual healers to present these miracles. Each chapter is a story itself. You can choose and pick whatever story you wish to read.

I recommend this book highly knowing that it will make a great gift for the holidays.

Our family and friends gathered at the Immaculate Conception Church on Dec. 8 to celebrated a mass in memory of my son Martin Queen. This was the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and was the birthday of Marty.

I am sharing this with you as I have always felt that Marty was one of my miracles. I was told that I probably could never have a child. I became pregnant and went to the hospital to deliver one child and lo and behold after Mike’s birth there slipped out a four-pound baby boy named Marty. What a miracle. He secretly slipped into our life and when he left we heard so many stories of his kindness, but most of all his love and his bear hugs. The miracle of life is unbelievable. Our miracle lives on.

I hope you are getting ready for the holidays. Please slow down and enjoy each day share It with your family and friends. There are many activities in the area. Plan on attending a movie or a musical concert.

Take care, stay healthy, and until next week, “Now you have heard it through the Grapevine.”
