Bridgeport Lions Club Third Annual Golf Ball Drop is Scheduled for August 2 at The Bridge Sports Complex

Are you curious about what the Bridgeport Lions Club and golf balls have in common?
In order to support projects and community-based organizations, the Bridgeport Lions Club is hosting an event where you have the opportunity to win a first-place prize of $1,000 or a second or third place prize of a two-night-stay (breakfast included) with two rounds of golf for two at Oglebay Resort or a $250 gift certificate to the Wonder Bar restaurant.
Other prizes to be awarded include rounds of golf for four at Bridgeport Country Club, Stonewall Resort and Canaan Valley Resort and a weekend stay for two at Silver Creek Resort (includes two complimentary adult beverages and appetizers at the Locker Room Sports Bar). The last day to purchase tickets for the event was Friday, July 25.
If you wish to be present to see what lucky numbers will win, join the Bridgeport Lions Club and other members of our community on Saturday, August 2, at 1 p.m. at the The Bridge Sports Complex. Those involved will gather at the multipurpose grass field across from Baseball Field 5. You do not have to be present to win.
The club is pleased to let you know that Bridgeport City Mayor Robert Matheny and other members of city council will be present to officially announce the winning numbers. The Bridgeport Fire Department has also agreed to bring one of the ladder trucks to lift the tarp filled with golf balls and release all the balls. Participants will watch to see what balls will land in the golf ball hole or what balls come the nearest to the hole to determine the winner, furthest from the pin and drawing of other winners.
The Bridgeport Lions Club serves our community by volunteering its time to raise the necessary funds that are vital for supporting programs in our community as well as purchasing actual items when needed and sending our Bridgeport youth to leadership camps and conferences.
