This is the update for the week of 7/21– 7/25 and the schedule for the week starting today, 7/28 (Monday, July 28)
.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING

The contractor completed the new main water line on Franklin Avenue from 12th to 14th Streets and started installing new customer service connections on 14th Street.  The new main water line on 15th Street from Hamill Avenue to West Virginia Avenue was also started this past.  The contractor plans to continue with the new line on Franklin Avenue and 15th Streets, as well as continuing the new main line on West Virginia Avenue this coming week.  NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during working hours.  If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located.  If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.

The contractor will have 15th Street closed from West Virginia Avenue to Hamill Avenue, and Franklin Avenue from 14th to 16th Street this coming week, Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 6 pm.  West Virginia Avenue will be restricted to one lane with flaggers directing traffic.

Fire and EMS access – 15th Street will be closed from West Virginia Avenue to Hamill Avenue and Franklin Avenue will be closed from 14th to 16th Street this coming week.

HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES

The contractor continued making customer service connections on Magnolia Avenue, as well as installing the new main water line on Magnolia Avenue.   The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue with customer service connections on Magnolia Avenue and to continue the new main water line on Magnolia Avenue out to Milford Street.   NO PARKING signs will be placed in the areas of work a day ahead of starting on that section.  Please find alternate parking during the posted work hours.  If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located.  If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.

The contractor will have Magnolia Avenue closed from Milford Street to Traction Street, except for local residents, this coming week from Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 6 pm.

Fire and EMS service to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected, though Magnolia Avenue will be closed between Milford Street and Traction Streets.  Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.

CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING

The contractor has given us a tentative start date of August 4, 2025, to start the Chestnut Hills portion of the project.

DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES

The contractor has been working on making a tie in connection at East Main and Clay Streets this past week, but has been delayed due to existing utilities.  That tie in should be completed on Monday.  The contractor was finishing up customer service connections to the new main line on East Pike Street, as well as completing the permanent asphalt trench repair this past week.   The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue with trench repairs on East Pike Street and make a main water line tie in at East Pike and Monticello Avenue.

The following streets will be closed this coming week: Clay Street from East Main Street to Virginia Avenue on Monday from 7 am to 6 pm.

Fire and EMS service along East Pike Street should not be affected and one lane of traffic will be controlled by flaggers.

DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING

The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer system along with the new storm system along West Main Street.  A temporary bypass pump was installed in the sewer line along West Main Street at Sumner Streets and will remain in place until the new line is laid.  For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system from Ferry Street towards Chestnut Street on West Main Street.

Due to the installation of the bypass pump, West Main and West Pike Streets will remain one lane with the turning lane from Pike Street to Main Street closed.

Fire and EMS service in the West End of Pike Street should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
