By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on July 02, 2025

The Charleston Sternwheel Regatta, which runs from July 3 to July 6, will be featuring an iconic 1970s music show as KC and the Sunshine Band will be visiting the state’s capital.

The show is set for Friday, July 4. It begins at 8 p.m. at Haddad Riverfront Park. KC and the Sunshine Band are Grammy and American Music Award winners

The group had five songs reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart: "Get Down Tonight", "That's the Way (I Like It)", "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty", "I'm Your Boogie Man", and "Please Don't Go."

That is not the only headliners set up. On Saturday at 8 p.m., Busta Rhymes will make an appearance.

Busta Rhymes has won multiple BET awards as well as an MTV award. His top hits include "Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check", "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See", "Dangerous", "Turn It Up (Remix) / Fire It Up", "Gimme Some More", "What's It Gonna Be?!", "Pass the Courvoisier, Part II", and "I Know What You Want."

On Sunday, also at 8 p.m., Jefferson Starship will perform. All three shows are at Haddad Riverfront Park on the Moses Auto Group Stage.

Jefferson Starship is the owner of a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. The group had two number one with "We Built This City" and "Sara."

All shows are free.
