Newest Addition to Roster at Meadowbrook Mall Open for Business as Staff, Dignitaries Hold Ribbon-Cutting

By Jeff Toquinto on October 28, 2025

Harrison County and Bridgeport officials welcomed the newest national brand to the Meadowbrook Mall last week with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.

Ashcroft & Oak Jewelry has brought its services to the former site of Icing, which is one of the corner units near Center Court. The store’s first day of business was Oct. 18, according to store manager Maira Stengel.

Work has been taking place on the site for months. Ashcroft & Oak looks to bring stability to a site that Icing occupied from Dec. 1, 1999, to its close-out date in June 2025. The closure ended nearly a quarter century of doing business at the mall.

So far, business has been good at the company’s newest location in Bridgeport.

“It’s been great,” said Stengel. “We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from our guests. We’re getting a lot of inquiries about who we are as a business, and how we operate. It’s been awesome.”

To redo the space, Ashcroft & Oak filed a permit for $225,000, which built out the already existing space. KJ Mirman Construction out of Ohio was the contractor. City and Meadowbrook Mall officials had pointed to the company hoping to be open before the holiday season – and they did that with ease.

“It was important to get going early because our staff is all new and we’re training them,” said Stengel. “We’re wanting them to be ready for the holidays.”

Although a national chain, Ashcroft & Oak Jewelers is a family-owned jewelry company, part of Rogers & Hollands Jewelers, specializing in providing a wide range of jewelry, including engagement rings, wedding bands, fashion jewelry, and watches. They have more than 70 locations across the country.
