Christine Chiodo graduated from BHS in 1984 and received an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from WVU in 1989. Shortly thereafter, she began working for NASA. Early in her career she served as a flight controller in the Mission Control Center and earned her MBA from the University of Houston in 1994. When NASA astronauts began living onboard Russia's Mir Space Station in 1995, she began a series of long-term assignments at the Russian Mission Control Center just outside of Moscow.
In 1998, Christine became NASA's manager of astronaut/cosmonaut training for International Space Station missions. In 2005 she was honored with NASA's Silver Snoopy Award--the astronauts' personal award for excellence--which is given to less than 1% of the workforce. She currently works in NASA's Spaceflight Training Management Office as the Chief of the Training Integration Branch, where she leads negotiations between NASA and the 15 other partner nations involved in the International Space Station program.
