Library

It is the goal of the Bridgeport Public Library to provide materials, resources and services that help patrons meet their personal, educational, cultural and professional information needs. In doing this, the Bridgeport Public Library has been nationally ranked on the list of libraries serving populations of 5,000-9,999 on the last seven annual lists published in "American Libraries," the publication of the American Library Association.

Please use Search Our Collection as a means of accessing the Library's collection. Not only does it offer a way to identify the depths of the collection, but numerous entries also permit access to reputable sources of information on the Internet by just clicking on the URL's outlined. Patrons can now access a list of the materials they have checked out or on hold by clicking on the tab, My Info, at the top of the search our collection page. Holds can also be placed from home by a mere click as well. Hopefully, constantly updated pages will enable patrons to utilize the library's collections from home.

Please visit the library to check out books, magazines, audiobooks, videos, and DVD's. Stop and access the Internet or use the computers to plan a trip, look up magazine articles, type a paper, identify a poem, or obtain diagrams and instructions on how to fix your car. Children can travel with the Magic School Bus or visit Barney. Libraries not only provide communities with access to a larger world, but they are also a means to celebrate the value and uniqueness of their individual cities and towns to a larger world.

Access the library's interactive Web site HERE.
