The Bridgeport Farmers Market was established in 2009. The mission of the market is to create and sustain a community of local vendors and consumers. Through providing a platform from which local growers and producers can sell their product, the Bridgeport Farmers Market has made a positive impact on the quality of life in the Bridgeport community. The market has become a viable destination for people in the Bridgeport area who are seeking not only fresh locally grown food, but also hand made products, fresh flowers, plants and more.
Patrons of the Bridgeport Farmers Market will find freshly prepared, ready-to-eat food and live local music. The Market strives to be a place where people in the community not only shop, but also want to hang out on Sunday mornings. Local chefs are on site regularly, teaching consumers new techniques for preparing the products sold at the market.
The Bridgeport Farmers Market at Charles Pointe is held outside on Sundays, May through October, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market is held inside at the Bridgeport Conference Center November through April on the second Sunday of each month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
