ABB Invites Community Involvement for 2024 Summer Kickoff

By Julie Perine on April 05, 2024

In less than two months, our community will kick off the summer season with the Associated Businesses of Bridgeport Summer Kickoff and Food Truck Festival.

This year’s event is Saturday, June 1, and the ABB is inviting community involvement. There are several ways to get in on the action.
“We encourage all ABB member businesses to consider setting up a table or tent and hosting a fun family activity,” said ABB President Jaclyn Rominger. “We also invite non-profits to take advantage of this awareness opportunity by setting up shop along Main Street.”

Businesses and organizations can contact Hilary Gonzalez hilarygonzalez@kaufmanrealty.com of the ABB to secure a spot. Businesses which pay B&O taxes to the city of Bridgeport and would like to join the ABB and be involved in its events can also contact Gonzalez for a membership application.

Food trucks interested in participating can contact Lisa Lang of the ABB at galbds@aol.com.

This is the fourth year for the Bridgeport Summer Kickoff and Food Truck Festival. In addition to member-hosted tents, the event will include live entertainment, the traditional beach ball drop, a kids’ zone including inflatables and DJ Benton Hoskinson “BHos,” a giant sandbox, cruise-in car show, and other seasonal fun.

Stay tuned to Connect-Bridgeport for featured vocalists and other entertainment, as well as new features for this year’s event. Traffic will be rerouted for the kickoff, which will take place 5-8 p.m. on East Main Street.
