BHS Soccer Teams Set to Close Out Regular Season This Week

The Bridgeport High School boys and girls soccer teams will close out the regular-season portion of their schedules this week beginning with a doubleheader against Lincoln on Tuesday at Wayne Jamison Field.
 
The girls will take on the Cougars at 6 p.m., with the boys game to follow at 8 p.m.
 
On Wednesday, the girls will travel to face University and the boys will once again be at home to face University. Both of those games will start at 6 p.m.
 
The girls enter the Lincoln contest with a 14-3 record. They had previously picked up their 13th consecutive win, defeating Elkins, 5-2, before falling on the road to Parkersburg South, 5-0.
 
The Indians bounced back from the 5-0 loss to South with a 5-0 victory against Buckhannon-Upshur.
 
In the victory against Elkins, Ally Callahan found the back of the net twice, including once on a penalty kick, while Anna Hutchinson, Gabby Reep and Ally Bender added a goal apiece.
 
Kylie Bender had a pair of assists against the Tigers and Leeann Gaskins, Hutchinson and Gracie Courtney were each credited with one assist.
 
In the shutout victory against B-U, Callahan again had a pair of goals with Ellamy Dodd, Brianna Smell and Ally Bender all adding one. Assists went to Elisa Dinaldo, Kaylee Reed, Gaskings, Hutchinson, Ally Bender and Kylie Bender.
 
The BHS boys have a record of 9-6-2 heading into this week’s two games.
 
Most recently, picking up a 4-3 victory against Elkins and a 3-1 win against Buckhannon-Upshur.
 
Against Elkins, Will Madden scored a pair of goals, while A.J. Dinaldo and Brody Nolte each had one goal. Assists went to Ezra Myers, Joe Reinhart and John Dumas. Levi Crayton had two saves in goal.
 
Brock Amos, Julian Orlando and Josh Jackson had the BHS goals against Buckhannon-Upshur and assists went to Myers, Dinaldo and Madden. Crayton notched six saves.
