BHS Thespian Troupe #7549 Shines at Regional

Bridgeport High School Thespian Troupe #7549 had an eventful day recently at the Area 2 Regional Thespian festival.
Troupe #7549’s brand new one act play written by Alan Haehnal , "Deep thoughts, Dark skies, Tough City" was selected as an outstanding one act and will advance to the state festival.
The following students were recognized for their performances:
Overall Outstanding Performer:
Isabella Siers
Lilly Smart
All Festival Cast:
Gabriella Christie
Katie Shaver
Garrett Smith
Jay Scott
The cast and crew received the following special awards:
Outstanding Fight Sequence
Outstanding Live Band Performance
Several Tech projects received top marks and will advance to states:
Isabella Siers: superior rating in hand prop and puppetry
Darios St. Martin Brown: superior rating in hand prop
Isabella Siers: excellent rating in mask construction
Garrett Smith: superior rating in short film
The state festival is March 14-16 and will take place at WVU. The troupe will compete for a spot in the state’s Top five and a chance to represent the state of West Virginia as the chapter selects one act to perform at the International Thespian Festival in June.
