Bridgeport Middle School Claims County Cheer Title

The Bridgeport Middle School cheerleaders took first place at the Harrison County cheer championships, held Monday, Nov. 11 at Robert C. Byrd High School.
The Lady Braves are coached by Laiken Beckley and Lara Hartzell. Members of the award-winning cheer team are 8th graders Presley Carlyle, Ava Turpin, Brea Holt, Jordan Groves and Gianna Felosa; 7th graders Nevaeh Brinkley, Ava Kretchmar, Mackenzie Reider, Olivia Poling, Riley Lanza, Kaylee Auvil, Addie Gregory, Jasa Garvin, Lily Lopez, Ella Smith and Harper Randolph and 6th grader Lilly Wolfe.
Washington Irving took second place in the competition. Also taking part in the competition were Lincoln, Mountaineer and South Harrison middle schools.
Teams were scored on technical cheer and a dance/stunting/tumbling routine.
