Bridgeport Volleyball Learns Regional Seeding, Finishes Regular Season
By Michael Minnich on October 26, 2026
A busy final week of the regular season saw the Bridgeport Indians host Senior Night on Wednesday, a quad match on Saturday, and, most importantly, beat all 4 of those opponents.
The Tribe breezed past the Bees of East Fairmont on Wednesday, 25-7, 25-9, 25-19.
Taylor Randolph, one of two seniors on the roster, smacked 17 kills to go with 9 digs and Rowyn Harris added 5 kills and 5 aces.
Sylvia Devono served 4 aces and Katie Backus, senior Kennedy Wolfe and Rylee Decker added 3 each.
Wolfe contributed a team-best 12 digs and 10 assists and Backus added 11 digs and 9 assists.
Bridgeport rallied from a set down to beat Hedgesville, 18-25, 25-21, 25-11, then defeated Frankfort, 25-9, 25-15 and also came back to beat James Monroe, 22-25, 28-26, 15-13.
Now that the regular season is over, Bridgeport turns its attention to a winner-take-all regional semifinal at Hampshire on November 5.
The Indians are the No. 3 seed and the Trojans are the No. 2 seed; much like basketball, the regional semifinal winners now qualify for the state tournament.
Lewis County is the top seed and face the play-in match winner, either No. 4 Keyser or No. 5 Elkins, for the region's other state berth.
