COVID Testing to Resume Sundays at UHC Tent

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 12, 2022

Due to the increase in COVID cases and testing needs, United Hospital Center is resuming Sunday testing at its on-site tent.

"With the current COVID wave, UHC is resuming COVID tent operations to include the next two Sundays, Jan. 16 and Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.," said Dr. Mark Povroznik.

On Tuesday, UHC had a 35 percent positivity rate for those testing at UHC, including those who were just being screened for surgeries, Povroznik said.

To test at the UHC tent, individuals must have an order from a licensed medical provider. The tent is open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, in addition to the next two Sundays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The tent has been closed the past couple of Sundays in an effort to relieve staff, Povroznik said.
