City Faces in Different Places

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on March 22, 2020 from City Faces

Meet this week's City Face, Tina Rogers White:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport?  If not a lifelong resident, tell me what brought you here.
Lifetime except for the first few years of marriage 41 years ago. We lived in Clarksburg for a short time. All my 60 years, I have been here in Bridgeport daily.

Tell me about your family. I have a daughter, Laura Dick, who is principal at Wilsonburg Elementary School. My son-in-law Johnny is a foreman at Belasco Homes. My two handsome grandsons, Austin (11) and Aiden (7) are the apples of my eye. My son Christopher lives out of state and teaches 40 minutes away in West Virginia. Chris is my best friend. He's the sweetest guy you could ask for. My brother Bill lives in Virginia and my sister Pat in Washington State. I have many nieces and nephews who I adore as if they were my kids, too.

What about pets?
My pets went over the Rainbow Bridge and I need a new one. I lost them in 2017, a fawn pug named Tubby and a black lab mix, Baby.

Where do you work and what do you do there?
I am disabled and I do not work, but I try to make people feel good and laugh daily and also share devotions on Facebook. I try to spread faith to maybe draw someone nearer to God.

What are your hobbies/favorite pasttimes?
My favorite pasttime would be listening to music. I miss dancing. I guess playing cards is another pasttime I miss. I want to start a girls' night wine tasting.

What is your favorite Bridgeport spot?
Oliverio's Ristorante

What do you like about Bridgeport?
My dad's family dates back into the 1700s here. You can drive through the gates at Bridgeport Cemetery and see headstones with the Lodge name. They are my grandma's ancestors. I love Bridgeport because it is the best place to raise a family. There is no better place.

What is your favorite West Virginia spot outside of Bridgeport?
Seneca Rocks, Smokehole Cavern area.

How about your favorite place outside of West Virginia?
Ocean City, Md.

What are some of your favorite things?
Playing with my kids and grandsons, family, people, music, fishing, coffee, cheese, hoagies, water, wine, soft food. I love reading my devotions and singing, even by myself.

Favorite food, restaurant?
Again, Oliverio's.

Favorite music genre/artist?
I love almost all music. I can't pick just one artist, but Brad Paisley and Garth Brooks are my favorites.

What is your best childhood memory?
My times with my mom and friends.

What is an interesting fact about you and/or something you would like to add?
Shower the people you love with love. Don't try to change someone. Love them as they are.
