City Faces in Different Places

By Julie Perine on September 27, 2020 from City Faces

Today's Bridgeport City Face is lifelong resident, hometown enthusiast and mom of two Christin Cassidy Insani. Meet her here:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? My entire life (36 years)

Tell us about your family. Are you married? Have kids?
Yes.. Married to Mark Insani for 10 years. We have 2 kids, Luca (age 2) and Cassidy (4 months)

Do you have pets? Yes, a yellow lab named Stella

Where do you work and what do you do there?  I am an employee of the U.S. Government .

What are your hobbies?  Between COVID, having a new baby, and a 2-year-old, my hobbies include - but are not limited to - diaper changing, bottle feeding at 2 a.m., potty training, coloring, and memorizing episodes of Muppet Babies and Blues Clues! But I also love having a bonfire and grilling in the backyard with our family, and taking the kids for walks around town.  If we have learned anything from 2020, it’s the importance of the simple things and being with your family.

What is your favorite Bridgeport spot? Home! We enjoy our backyard and entertaining our family with cooking out on the grill and smoker, and just relaxing around the fire. However, I also enjoy walking the trail at the City Park and Hinkle and Deegan lakes.

What do you like about Bridgeport?  Bridgeport has my heart.  All of my memories are here.  I love our small town that continues to grow, but will always have that “small town feel," especially now being a mother of two. I am very proud to call this place my home, and can't wait for our kids to start school here and make their own memories!

What are some of your favorite memories made here in Bridgeport? I’m with the consensus when it comes to Light up Night in town.  It is wonderful and magical and I can’t wait for my own kids to appreciate it as much as I do and look forward to it the older they get.  Second to that, I am grateful to continue the memories or keep in touch with my lifelong friends that I have had since kindergarten.  Another great thing about where we live, even if others have moved away, gotten busy with life, and have their own families, everyone still seems to have their core friends from school and spend time together whenever they can. I feel blessed to still have those friends that I can count on, and raise our kids together.

What is your favorite spot outside of WV? Our family enjoys going on vacation to Florida’s Gulf Coast.  We have visited Anna Maria Island several times, but look forward to exploring a few other islands we haven’t been to yet with our kids.

What are some of your favorite things?  Cooking has always been an outlet for me. I enjoy being in the kitchen and making meals for our family!

Food/Restaurant? Bridgeport Country Club- HANDS DOWN! The food is always delicious, but  Barb Knicely and the staff is even better!

Favorite Color? I guess I think about what color I like to wear when I think of my favorite color.. so that’s usually black, or grey.  But I also love to wear Bridgeport Red!

Music?  Today’s Christian music.  I’ve been to several Christian concerts, most of them have been locally too! If you think they would be boring.. go see TobyMac live!  He puts on a great show!  Christian music is good for my soul. It’s what I like to listen to in the car, and while I am cooking in the kitchen.

Best childhood memory? All of my memories from living here have been good. I especially love the countless memories with the same friends that I talk to today from high school. Those moments we will always cherish and never get back! It was all about having fun! Back then, we had to use house phones, and dial up internet if we wanted to talk to each other! I can still hear the logging in sounds to AOL.COM!  Kids in school today don’t know what I am talking about if I ask them if they went tubing down Simpson Creek their senior year (Now I sound terribly old)! I do miss that innocence, but love looking back at pictures in all the photo albums I have!

Interesting Fact about You: Mark and I struggled with infertility for 8 years.  Finally God answered our prayers and we have two beautiful children via In-Vitro Fertilization.  I am proud to be a mini-van mom (never thought those words would come out of my mouth).  Infertility is such an emotional journey and for some, a secret struggle.  If anyone ever has any questions, or looking for someone to talk to, I would be happy to help! Also you might see me on a TV commercial for Cooper Law Offices! (And they are great, too!)
