City Faces in Different Places

By Julie Perine on February 23, 2020 from City Faces

Meet this week's City Face, Keri Snell:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? If not a lifelong resident, tell me what brought you here.
Lived in Bridgeport for 8 years now. Originally from Grafton, we opened a business in Bridgeport, so I bought a house here before getting married.

Are you married, have kids? Tell me about your family.
Married Patrick Snell in 2014, a Bridgeport native. We have 2 kids. Scotlin age 4 and Cian age 1. I have 3 older siblings, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

What about pets?
We have a dog, Ona, a border collie. A cat, Punkin, which we found abandoned by its mother about 2 weeks before we had Cian. We had to bottle feed him he was so little and barely had his eyes opened. Needless to say he became part of our clan.

Where do you work and what do you do there?
I’m part owner and manager at House of Fashions, a bridal and prom boutique

What are your hobbies/favorite past times?
I love being outside and hiking/ sightseeing. As a family we love going to state parks to hike

Favorite Bridgeport spot?
Hinkle and Deegan lakes has always been a favorite spot. My husband proposed there and it’s a fun family hangout for us

What do you like about Bridgeport … why is this a good place to live?
I love how many different community events we have and the involvement there is
It’s a great place to raise kids and the amount of exposure they get to so many activities is amazing.
One – or more – of your favorite memories of something that took place in Bridgeport ...
The night Patrick and I found out we were pregnant for the first time was right before Christmas. We went downtown to the Dairy Queen to get ice cream and it started snowing so we took pictures in front of the big christmas tree

What is your favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?
Audra is always a favorite spot, especially to hike. Summersville and Fayetteville area is also a favorite spot. Our family loves to hike! Long Point is a favorite trail of ours there and we also love Ace Adventure park with the inflatables on the lake.

How about your favorite place outside of WV?
That’s a tie between Disney World and Gatlinburg Tennessee

What are some of your favorite things? Food/restaurant? Favorite color? Music genre/artist?
Favorite food is probably my moms friend potatoes, I could eat them every meal, every day. I look forward to them every Christmas morning when we all do breakfast together at her house. Favorite color is emerald green. Garth Brooks is my all time favorite music artist but I love all kinds of music.

What is your best childhood memory?
I spent a lot of time with my grandmother growing up. She loved flowers and had a big garden.
I always picked the poppy petals and would make clothes for these two big duck statues she had in her flowerbed. I loved doing that.

Interesting fact about you and/or something you would like to add…
Even though I work in fashion/ retail, I have an Industrial Engineering degree from WVU. Not many people know that!

Read a recent feature on Snell's business, House of Fashion HERE.
